So a long time ago i was at an estate sale. I went to check out the guns and immediately noticed everything was an antique or collector piece and way outside my meager means or knowledge base.

One of the guns I saw there was... interesting.
It was a shotgun, and right now i can't remember if it was pump or semiauto... but i'm 95% sure it was not really either.
there was a short magazine tube for just a few shells, but it was along the top front left of the receiver. yup.
If I'm remembering correctly, when you cycled it, it would open/eject, but it would also shoot a little carrier back from the magazine tube with one shell, which you then flipped over on top of the receiver to drop the shell into a loading port. the carrier would spring back and ride forward when you closed the action to grab another shell from the tube.

I have no idea what this shotgun was, but it was a very interesting piece, and it's floated around in my head for at least 15 years with me wondering about it.

Any ideas?

If nobody knows, no big deal, and I guess i'm just sharing interesting design i once saw floating around that i thought you might get a kick out of hearing about, because i sure as crap have never seen another one like it.

Edit one word out and it sounds like how Joe Biden thinks.

Are you sure it was a pump and not a brake action?
There is an old adapter kit that set off to the left side and would help you “auto feed” the next shell

YES!
if it wasn't that exact thing, it was something very similar
I guess I had the type of gun wrong. I only ever saw the one, so my memory of it was hazy.
Thanks folks. I can sleep easy tonight knowing I didn't imagine it
