2nd time in a year that I’ve had to pull someone out of a match/training for not being able to hold off drinking for a couple hours.

Makes you lose a little more faith in humanity when things like that happen. I had to fire a guy once for doing drugs on his lunch break. He was a forklift driver.

Last time I was witness to that sort of thing, it wasn't awkward at all. The boss said "get your dope and get out of here, we already called the cops". Junkie boy ran off. Not awkward at all and they caught him down the street a bit.

After being in construction/industry for 50 years I saw my fill of it. Most of the subs couldn't get workers cause they couldn't pass a drug test or they just refused to take one. The two major companies I worked for had the strictest drug rules around. Unfortunately I had to get involved in more that one instance of someone being removed from a jobsite.

Many years ago when I worked for a sporting goods chain, a guy came in that was drunk and very angry. (Not at us.) He wanted a box of .357 HP and he wanted it now. I refused to sell it to him. Then, of course, he got angry at us. I offered to call an officer to let him sort it out and the guy left.
