For his stated reason of suing auto manufactures, Mr. Ellison is continuing to "Normalize and Nullify" Criminal Conduct and activity.
I also believe Mr. Ellison participated in court cases, here in North Carolina, involving Voter ID, clearing / cleaning up voter roles and other voting issues here. I maybe mistaken if he was involved, however cases like those have played out, still are, to NOT have voter ID and leave the voter roles alone, etc, etc.

I see the point in the investigation leaving out "young people". Hyundai and Kia made tons of cars in like a 7 year period where all you had to do is pop the steering column open and use a flash drive type plug and you're done. Take the person stealing out for a second and look at the insurance companies and that is why they are investing it not because of the kids. A lot of insurance companies won't even insure the years and models in question.

This is an excellent point and the insurance companies losses are real as well.
However, from my view point and considering The Progressives actions, thru the years, I believe there's a wider agenda at play with Mr. Ellison's suing auto manufactures over theft concerns.
I'm not trying to convince anyone, here included, that his actions are part of a wider agenda as the Left keeps dismissing ~ nullifying criminal behavior, coast to coast.
They've already sued a firearms manufacture, Ruger?, over Sandy Hook?
NY AG James is suing cow farms over Climate Change?
With your car model, which is valid, what's next suing Ruger because their triggers are too easy to pull and health care companies do not want to cover injuries because a Ruger was used?
IMO, if our society was more normal I would wholly agree with your assessment of Ellison's motives for suing auto manufactures.

If this idiot is planning on taking action against companies for building cars that are too easy to steal, he should do so on behalf of the car owners, not the little shits who steal the cars. For them, he should investigate jail sentences that are too easy to avoid.
