I'm gonna give the RDS another go. I have a question...

The first of (probably) a few questions.
I plan on trying it out on just one pistol to start. Should I get acquainted with the dot on my carry pistol (P365X) or on a larger range/HD pistol yet to be determined as none are currently RDS ready?

Since you’re carry is already optics ready I think that is an easy choice. I’d say if you can get proficient finding the dot on a small gun, the full size guns will come more naturally.

That said, you probably should find another gun to carry in the meantime while you learn to use the dot.

I would start on a larger pistol and have an RDS with a good sized window. The hardest part for me was getting the draw and presentation down, having the dot in the window at full arm extention. Most people with iron sites, get to use them to help line everything up on the presentation.

I just added a RMR on my G19 because, well I can.

Here is my feedback to you and other new RDS shooters.

When I tried to see the dot, I had to find the dot.

If I just put the gun in front of my face, I see the dot.

If I try to do some "special dot drill" nope, no dot.

but if I draw the gun, present to target, I see the dot.

Not hard.

the x series 365s are dot ready. If you have presentation issues primary arms sells an acss reticle on the "fullsize" holosun that has a massive circle to find it easier.

As others have said don't put a dot on your primary carry gun. Buy something else or buy another slide for your 365 to practice on. Once you have presentation, recoil control and being able to find the dot under recoil out dots on everything. some people have issues finding dots under recoil I guess if they have weaker hands.

Takes a bit of practice to draw and find the dot 100%. Wouldn’t put on your EDC until you get a lot of reps with it.
