BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (WTHR) - Notorious serial killer Charles Manson is near death in a California hospital, TMZ reports.

The new site reported Manson was rushed to a hospital in Bakersfield three days ago and has been undergoing a series of treatments. One source told TMZ "it's just a matter of time" before Manson passes away.

Manson, 83, reportedly has an ashen appearance and is laying still, covered in blankets.

A source told TMZ "it's not going to get any better for him."

Manson, who was convicted in 1969 of orchestrating the murders of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and six others. He was also hospitalized in January.
