I was unable to watch either of the races on tv as we dont do cable out here in the sticks. I did however manage to watch both races T&S feed and listen to the IMS radio feed on the IndyCar web page.
I heard that they mandated more downforce than they had last year. Looking at the fast laps for each car I saw a decent spread, 218 - 213. I am assuming that was an indication of levels of trim. Not much info on the radio feed, did the talking heads talk about it at all on the tv feed?
Sounds like nascar really screwed up the track with their crappy traction treatment on the 2 top grooves. I'm not a big fan of fake crap like that, no matter the series.
Looks to be some serious, newish talent, the 500 is going to be a crazy one to watch.
