Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?

I have days like this. Sometimes I can go a few weeks between issues, lately it's gotten problematic.
I've started having eggs and ham in the morning, eggs and rice for lunch, and plain toasted bagel for dinner maybe with some plain whitefish. That's been the diet past 4 days, down 7 pounds and no bouts of toilet troubles.
I'm not sure what sets it off. I can eat spicy, greasy, and dairy just fine sometimes.
My best bets are fish and chicken, but I never really know what the trigger will be or when it will hit. I've had a few months at a time in the last 40 years where it was almost a non-issue, but never know when those will come either.
It has pretty much ruled my life. Can't be a "passenger" in a vehicle simply because I can't trust them to stop when I say STOP. I take Imodium like it's candy, but sometimes that doesn't help.
Docs have had me on several meds but nothing works. Recently tried taking digestive enzymes in pill form, as well as trying to eat foods that provide them naturally, but there was no real change other than an increase of gas.
I've dealt with this so long that it has become partly psychosomatic. If I know that there's no bathroom, or that the only bathroom is occupied, I can all but guarantee an episode.
I've kinda-sorta learned to deal with it (if that's even possible), but there's SO many things throughout my life that it has kept me from doing. It sucks!

Most important meal? I'd say it depends on your lifestyle, metabolism and goals.

The bottom line is you only need to eat to fuel your body and mind to function. Depending on your level of activity throughout the day would necessitate your optimal meal timing.

The old saying goes “Eat all the breakfast you want, give lunch to a friend, and supper to an enemy.”

That's new to me, but I did here it as "eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and supper like a pauper." Same same.

I agree that it depends on your goals and lifestyle. Somedays I am famished and need something; other days, all I need is my half-pot of black coffee and I am off to the races. Eating it/not eating it doesn't affect my day.

Big breakfast (3hr post wake-up), small lunch, big dinner. I try to train fasted before bfast, but sometimes have to do it between lunch/dinner.

Usually no breakfast. Coffee with some fat and collagen in it.

Often only eat dinner. Will only eat breakfast on weekends, usually later and skip lunch.

I also define hangry, and it's ugly. When I get really hungry, I get a headache, and little jittery, and a total a-hole. Yeah, it's bad. So the first thing I do in the morning is eat, lol. 3 eggs, bacon or neese's sausage, 2 cresents or toast, and coffee. Sometimes it's waffles or pancakes, but mostly not. I also sometimes make a protein shake afterwards and drink on the way to work. After though, lunch and dinner/supper (yeah, let's talk about that, haha) is usually really light. I eat 4-5 times a day, but small portions, except for breakfast......I like breakfast, lol.
I can attest to that ! Mr. Hangry A-hole all the way if he don't get his breakfast first thing (love ya, hunney 🥰). I'm not a big breakfast eater either, but need a little something with my coffee and getting ready for work in the mornings, a few pieces of bacon, turkey sausage links, mashed up hard boiled egg with Dukes mayo mixed in, or yogurt. I need something on my stomach when taking vitamins in the am. Then by the time 9:30am or 10am rolls around, I'm ready for a healthy snack (I try to at least), to hold me over 'til lunch.

Breakfast guy here, usually skip lunch. Wouldn't eat supper if it weren't for my wife, as it's the only meal she eats, and of course, my mother who insists on cooking phenomenal food when she is bored.

I tend to plan and time my meals around the fact that I don't often have access to a commode for the majority of the work day.

No. Overall nutrition consistently matters more.

That being said, breakfast is heavenly and kickstarting your day has merit for overall energy. Except my Saturday recovery breakfast. That tends to be massive 😂

Depends if diarreah is the most important part of the day.

Not diarrhea, per se, but cheeks are clinched.

I was craving some of our homemade sausage and fried some up this morning. Scrambled a couple of eggs, too. Didn't overeat, but had a decent breakfast of two patties, eggs, and a cup and a half of coffee about 5:30am.

My gut is wishing I hadn't done that. Plus, I can't stand the thought of putting skin to seat in the bathrooms at work.

Guess I'll stand up until lunchtime.

Ugh..

Ahh, the old Squat-o-let. How much would a guy like to slip and fall in there? Ever consider what a "painting the walls" type spray would do in a situation like this? Better have waterproof sandals on so you can hose them off as well when you clean that stall with the hose.

I wonder if they have those inconsiderate types that just don't flush in public bathrooms like we do?

I imagine it's a best practice to test for water pressure before commiting to the job at hand, much like we have to check for paper. That's a hell of a prank...the old turn off the water at the main after extra spicy Vindaloo day.

Is it worse than the one by my office door? Screenshot_20211005-082103_Photos.jpg

If I eat early I'll be starving at lunch and eat way to much. I learned about a year ago that portion sizes are way too large most times. Much better for me if I "Eat to not be hungry" instead of "Eat until I'm full" at meals. I snack a little in the afternoon also, so I don't overeat at dinner.

My routine:
Wake up around 0630.
Breakfast around 0930 - 1000. Cup of yogurt and fruit.
Lunch around 1230 - 1300. Meat and 2 veggie.... one of which is high fiber (or I take a couple fiber gummies)
Dinner around 1830 - 1900. Meat and 2 again, usually different from lunch but sometimes the same. Sometimes a pasta of some sort, but I go lighter on the noodles than I use to.
Ice cream around 2030 with TV to relax before bed
Bed usually no later than 2200. I don't sleep great after around 0330, but force myself to lay in the bed and rest until time to get up the next day.

This is a big breakfast for me: Every other day it's this type of healthy cereal made out of healthy stuff, with fresh fruit and whole milk. The dark junk on top today is dried cranberry raisin things. The other "every other" morning's breakfast is an apple. I've gotten to really enjoy it.

For me, bacon is for tomato sandwiches, eggs are for hueveos rancheros or stuff like fresh-saute'd spinach baked florentine, which sounds fancy but is really easy, really tasty, and good for keeping you out of the clutches of the corrupted medical industrial establishment.

I ate carnivore and one meal a day the entire month of September. Had really good results. I'm back to bullet proof coffee in the morning, then water. Sous Vide chuck roast for the win.

Not making a joke. I’m pretty sure that line about it being the most important meal was put out by pork farmers.
