Is it sad that this made my morning?

Like finding $20 in the pocket of a pair of pants you haven't worn in a while.
Ha, you posted as I was typing (didnt see your post till after I clicked 'post reply') - but yep, twenty bucks!

Tell me about it. I have one with a good nozzle that actually flows. I had to juggle it around onto the can I wanted to use to fill the mower last night.

Crap like this is why I've become opposed to govt regulation in general.

I found a source for preban nozzles.

I intend to sell a DIY vent kit marketed as a solvent tra...wait, no. Marketed as a arm bra..no, wait.

Yea, anyway. You get the point.
Get to your business...FAST!
And make sure you stock a lot of extra caps for cheap, because those things always get lost/blown off

It is (or was a couple years ago) easy to get the little vents "for water can use".

Dude, that'd make my day too

And lets talk about the PRICE of gas cans these days - 1.5 gallon tank is 20 bucks.
Sons. Of. Bitches.

It's not even that, it's that the newfangled ones don't work for crap....

Just left Fleet Fuels in Wendell with a couple fresh gallons of ethynol free gas for the mower... In my new, old vented gas can...

Now thats true too
Its hard, in most situations, to use them 'properly'

Like on my dirtbike - you dont have a great lip for the thing to hook on to.
So youre doing the little "push this down, slide it back and hope" dance

I prefer these guys

since I do not have to worry about the shape and location of the fuel cap. Just place source (gas can, bucket, etc) higher than fuel tank, shove brass-free hose through gas cap, jiggle brass hose inside source until it is primed, and let it do its thing. I used to leave one of those in each of my vehicles.

Tractor Supply around here has the replacement spout kits for old style cans. E - Z Pour brand. Of course they say it is illegal to put them an a new style EPA mandated safety can.

The VP racing fuel cans are nice and vented. 5 gallon ones on Amazon with hose for like $35. They're motocross type cans. I love them for atvs mowers and such.

Never used one. Do you have to invert the jug to pour?
I always assumed they were designed to pour very quickly, so to keep pit stop time down. The tiny tank on a push mower would be difficult to fill?

No you don't you can if you'd like but I use them to fill my Polaris RZR and lawnmower haven't had a problem.
