Spectrum sent an email out today saying I could get Peacock premium for free for a year. Even though it's 'free', Peacock want a credit card number on sign-up; I assume so they can start charging on day 366. I could create a number on privacy.com and cancel right after submitting but I'm wondering if it's even worth the bother. Are there any compelling reasons to sign up?

Psych is on there and they released a third movie recently.
Few other shows on there that I enjoyed but I downgraded to their.free I don't use it much

I watch Peacock sometimes. Mostly older shows from when I was a child. You can always try the premium, which is probably sans commercials, but unless there is a lot of programming you want, I doubt itā€™s worth paying for.

I tried their free version and can only get it to work on their iphone app. Will not work on a regular browser like chrome. but needs a desktop app which I can't use on linux

Thanks, all. Since I can get the premium version for free (for a year, anyway), I think I'll give it a shot. I should be able to find a few things to watch, even if it's just binging all seasons of The Rockford Files.

peacock ain't great. i had a free trial, but of course it was the ad-supported one. probably the same thing spectrum will give you. they don't seem to be good enough for people to pay for ad-free, so they're "giving" away ad-supported to every farmer and his mother.
I have spectrum, so i could probably get the free trial for the year.
I signed up for paramount+ and it had a couple shows. all the star trek, blue bloods, neighborhood, some documentaries. I got a 1yr promo for like $25 that's about to expire. I probably will not renew. not enough content to make it worth the price.
Prime video is a great bonus for free since we were already doing prime shipping. We still pay for netflix, though they're getting the rug pulled out by every other service.
