I have always loved them. I have a savage 24 back in the day. I now have a Remington Spartan 12g/308, Spartan 12g/223, and a Baikal 94 in 30-06/12g.

I've have owned several 24's over the years. I wish I'd kept a beautiful older 222-20 and a later 30/30-12.

Had a 24 in .357 mag / 20ga. Wish I had never sold it. It was a accurate and fun gun to shoot and hunt with.

Have a Savage 24 in .410 and .22. If I ever run across another for sale in a different combo, I will buy it!

Never had one, but I've always wanted one in 20ga/30-30.

Don't need it, don't have a use for it, but I think it would be really cool.

I have a Savage 22-410. It has the tenite stock. We pulled this guns and several others out of my dad’s attic. The forearm is a little warped from the heat I suppose. Not sure if I could heat it up and bend it back. I shot a lot of squirrels with this when I was younger. E7D2EEB7-E187-4FDF-902C-0262FC74014C.jpegD553D3C6-760E-4F0E-8DC9-9989C6F3B757.jpeg

Back in the early 1970's there was a Western Auto in Galax. Along with all the other stuff they sold guns and only kept a few long guns in stock. The owner hired a young man to help after school and on weekends. This fellow found out that he could order things and he ordered a few guns for the store. He ordered a Colt Sauer rifle in 7mm Magnum and 2 Colt Sauer Drillings, one was 12 Ga and 30-06 and the other was 12 Ga and .243.

Those two drillings stayed in the gun rack until the owner closed the store. I heard that the owner took them home. Someone most likely got a good deal on them when they were finally sold. The rifle got sold and was traded around amongst some of my friends and I owned it for a while.

They were beautiful guns and I don't remember the cost back then but, I remember them being very expensive.

Oh man. I would love to have the 12 gauge and 243. I’m over here drooling 🤤

If it’s thermoplastic you can gently heat it and try to let it sag back into shape. I have set my oven to 170, then turned it off and put stuff inside to soak. Play with the temp until you get results.

Or seal in a ziplock / vacuum seal bag and soak in hot water. Use a candy or fry oil thermometer.

I’ve done the vacuum sealing for leather holsters before. Works good.

I need to try something, the stock bugs me a little bit

I have one of the original SA Inc M6 .22/.410 guns.

When I was in Germany and South Africa 'Cape Guns' were popular: side by sides with a shotgun barrel and centerfire rifled barrel due to game seasons overlapping.

I have an old Savage 24 (Series P - I think, though not marked on the barrel). Mine is 22WMR over 20ga.

My dad bought me my first or these in the mid seventies as a birthday present. I was a teenager - this was to be my turkey gun. (That's another whole story.) When I turned 21, I traded it plus a bit of $$, for my first pistol. Young men are stupid and I let an unscrupulous dealer take advantage of me. The pistol: Jenning J-22 that wasn't worth the scrap value. Carried it delivering pizzas my last couple years of my undergrad. I'm smarter now.

Never told my dad I traded the gun, but years later I came across the exact same gun in Hendersonville. Purchased it and put it in the safe, just in case Dad ever asked. He never did; always more interested in the ARs and the lever guns. Still have the replacement, don't know what I'll ever do with it.
