Is your scope strong enough for an airgun?

Interesting engineering aspects between the two. Had never given it any thought, mostly because I would never put a 800 dollar hunting scope on an airgun.

Yeah, airgun recoil is a killer for scopes not designed for it.

I've known this for years and temporarily put a regular rifle scope on and air rifle before changing it out a couple of months later. When I took it off, the objective lens rings were loose.
My appreciation of BSA Scopes changed a little when I found out Gamo owned them.

Most people don't have an appreciation for high end air guns. They cost as much as regular firearms.

And I can attest to that. In my younger days (you know, before the Ark and Animals) I once put a Tasco on a Beeman pump up and it lasted maybe 10 shots and then it had crap rattling around inside so I conveniently "misplaced" it so as not to have to explain it.

I put a free Remington 3-9x40 on my Crosman Phantom break barrel, and it's lasted for years. This is the absolute worst scope I've ever owned, but it has held up to this air gun that I've chrono'd at 1200 fps. The scope came on my buddy's Remington 300 Win mag, and gave him idiot eye because of its 2" eye relief. I was offered the first shot with that rifle, but I'm glad I didn't take it!
