Have been addicted to some jerky lately. Made up the Dr Pepper recipe a few weeks ago and have been hooked. I’ve enjoyed all the jerky recipes I’ve tried over the years but I think the Dr Pepper one is my favorite so far.
I had 3 chuck roasts I sliced and split up almost evenly. Half got the Dr Pepper marinade. The other half got a Stubbs marinade I thought might be interesting. For the Stubbs I didn’t add anything to it. Marinade to meat. They go on the dehydrator tomorrow morning.
Forgot to take a pic of the third roast before slicing, so here’s the pic of it sliced. I slice them mostly frozen and try to keep them as consistent as possible. A few slices got away from me and got too thick. I just rip those long ways into a few smaller pieces to reduce the surface area and keep it sort of consistent with the others.
Packaged weight of the combined roasts came to 7.9lbs and I got about 6lb 14oz after trimming/slicing.
Marinated weight is pretty close. Both bags were almost even around 3.4lb pre marinade. I’ll update with dehydrating pics tomorrow.
