If anyone is coming over from the Western part of NC, I could use some help with a delivery to Mr. MuzzerFuzzer....

I am not as far west as you, but I plan on going sometime that week. If you can get it to Hickory, I can get it to Muzzer.

Welp... anytime ya wanna come. Shoot me a text at 336-394-2687 when ya get close. That means anywhere between 0600 and 2300 hrs :)

Man Muzz that sounds like a blast I'd love to join in but I have no room for more stuffs (I'll probably be doing something similar in the not to distant future myself) unless it was sailboat stuffs and then space is still limited. I'd love to come just to meet you and some of these other fellers and help out but it sounds like when Y'all are doing this I'll be out at sea.
Hope you have a great time and some of the young fellers just starting their homesteads will show up to help and get some much needed stuffs for their shops.

Dood...shoot me some pictures of that sailin craft ! I used ta be way deep into McAlpin Downey hulls n stuff ;)

That's right, GIVE AWAY ! I'm planning on sort of a meetup where you eat and drink and socialize and WORK. ( And camp too if you bring your gear, it will probably take a couple days to totally complete). We have about 3 generations of collecting and general pack ratting, to give away, or throw away. There is so much of it that no two people can do it without help. I'm going to rent a construction waste dumpster for everything rejected. Everything else will be given away except for the power tools and a few things that are part of the estate. All I want is one good set of hand tools and one of the tool boxes. The rest can be had by sorting and dipping and a signaling head nod from yours truly. We will also have a pile that only Goodwill would like too. The main thing is to clean up the place and get it more "Old Folks Friendly". I can't begin to list it all, but there are so many hand tools that they alone should attract some interest. All you have to do is signify that you're interested. Heck it don't even have to be an exact weekend, it could turn out to be many. Also, if you have a new weapon you'd like to test, bring that too. We'll make sure you get some time to burn some brass up.
It may turn out that you may just wanna come visit in your pickup, and spend the day with me openin boxes and poking around lookin under stuff and taking home a few things with a smile to go with them. I know that most all of you guys have families and a pile of commitments and responsibilities, so that may just work out better for you. I'd much rather get a buncha guys together and have some fun doin what we do when we get face to face in a large group. Heck, I'll even clean up the bathroom in the shop for everyone to use. It has a shower too! So get dirty as you want and go home shiney as when ya left. Right now I'm open to all ideas concerning this and want to know who'd be interested.

Lookin like it'll be 6/17-6/25

Hmmm...I'm thinking about just throwing my backpacking tent & sleeping pad in the car.
Maybe just call in sick on Monday or take a vacation day....

SV Wendsent.jpg

She's a 1982 41' Morgan Out Island Ketch. Her name is Windsent.
This was right after we bought her last year, she now sports the full enclosure under the Bimini and 2 340 watt solar panels on top of the Bimini. We've also modified the sail cover on the main into a sail bag with integrated lazy jacks and replaced the radar with a Garmin. Along with a dozen or two other projects we're almost ready to set sail for far away places.

Well muzz wanted me to post a few pics

Man yeh! She is a pretty thing and righteously rigged. I'm drowning in my own spit over her. At one time we had a 35' Hunter and two off branded cats in the family. Most all the old salts in the family have about passed away now. I used to be friends with a guy in yer neck of the woods who had a real sailboat shop right off north main. He sold me my first cat, it was a 14' "Dingo" that was built by a motor pleasure boat company MFG. The only other cat he offered at the time was the AquaCat, that, to me, looked like a double seat lawn chair with a sail on it. Later after he died and the business was sold I saw a Chrysler Musketeer, it almost was identical to the hobie 18 of today. It had 250 square feet of sail though, and at the time, it was considered a seriously fast cat . For the life of me I can't remember who I sold it to. The Hunter was a family vacation craft and kept up by my bil out in Edenton. The hearties would take her out for two and three days cruises. Or the ladies would like the "boat rides in the sunset", etc. I really miss those years. Oh...if ya don't have a jib sock...get one ;). Roller furlers last ten times longer if not sun baked.
