This stuff didn’t burn at all. It was iodine that burned like a fire poker from hell.
I learned the hard way. "No Mom, it doesn't hurt." Make her feel like you're doing her a favor by holding still just barely long enough for her to clean it off and wrap it up but not long enough for her to fuss over it and put smelly stuff on.
Other than Band-Aids, those smelled good.
Mercurochrome was like colored water - Merthiolate, that was the stuff that burned! I still have the scars, mental and physical!
