A Kansas police chief who called out a local McDonald's -- after one of his officers claimed he was served a cup of coffee with a vulgar and insulting message attached -- said Monday the officer has resigned after fabricating the incident.

Herington Police Chief Brian Hornaday confirmed the unnamed officer made up the story about being given a coffee cup with "F-----g pig" written on it. The incident caused a stir on social media over the weekend and resulted in criticism of the fast-food giant.

2019, everywhere you go is videotaped…

Playing Pinocchio no Bueno.

A Starbucks employee in Oklahoma actually did this back in November. I guess this cop was trying to get someone fired he didn’t like at the McDonalds

It’s bad enough that it happens for real! Just like women that scream rape every time they wake up with an ugly guy, it lowers expectations of the real perpetrators.

how dare you?!?!
that's like saying a woman would lie about being raped just to get a stigma-free abortion

For real though, a friend once told me she had been raped by her boss. the boss that was married and was always trying hard to hook up with her on the side. the boss that told her his wife was out of town and asked her out to the bar. the boss she went out alone with getting super drunk when his wife was out of town, knowing he was trying hard to hook up with her. and when she woke up naked next to him in the morning, she was like "how did this happen? he must have raped me". I just said "if that's what you want to call it, take it to the police, but I can see how he might think you were willing." I believe that was the last time I talked to her.
I have no tolerance for rape. but what happened there... i'm going to say there is enough blame to share.
i gotta stop derailing threads

Make it profitable to get victimized, raped, discriminated against, and you are going to get people who make it up. This guy is just another Jesse Smollett wannabe. And professionally, every time he would have testified to something, the defense attorney would make sure the jury knew he was a liar. His usefulness as a cop was over.

Your integrity is everything! And once it’s gone, it’s gone forever!

For now. Once he goes to a smaller more pro-"law" town he'll do just fine. The prosecutor will make a fine argument that what happened years ago in a different department has no impact on the current case and it will be excluded from trial.
Kind of like how if you have to shoot somebody that may be about to attack you, their criminal history will be excluded because it's not something you coudl have known about when making your decision to shoot.
