I'm doing well fellas. I've got a few months left and hopefully I will be finished. It would put me right at 3.5 years of heavy chemo. From what my doctor tells us, it will take my body a fair amount of time to recover but I am certainly looking forward to no more chemo. I did have covid back in November and was in ICU for a few days. Things did get a bit hairy but Caitlin says I'm hard to kill. I was highly encouraged to get the covid vaccine by my oncologist so I did a few a days ago. I know a lot of you are against the vaccine (with good reason) but my circumstances are a bit different. I had some rough symptoms but they were somewhat expected. I'm not really looking forward to the second dose but it has not been nearly as bad as having Covid was.

Colt turned 5 in March and will start school in August. River is 3 as of December and is bossing her brother and me around daily. Both are really good kids. Colt and I ride motorcycles daily and try to maintain the farm as best as we can.

Caitlin is doing well and works harder than any of us being Mommy to me and the kids.

I'm on here everyday lurking for a half hour or so, sometimes longer.

Thank you all for thinking of me and my family. It means a lot. Please do keep us in your prayers as we try to round this final corner of treatment.

Chemotherapy is over. I finished back in July. I'm still on a pretty good assortment of meds but nothing too terrible. I still have monthly labs and doctor's appointments and will likely have them for the next several years (at least 5-7). My blood counts are still trying to find their new normal, which is a bit weird. Sometimes when I see my labs, it gives me a bit of a scare but my doctor says not to worry and just to let things level out over time.

I feel really well and have dropped approximately 40 lbs since dropping the steroids back in July. I'm still working to get back to my old normal walking around weight. I still have neuropathy pretty bad in my feet, mostly my left foot but I manage and make it work. My back isn't great from all of the LP's but it's better than it once was. There is a lot of scar tissue.

Overall, I feel great. I don't like going to labs or appointments but it is what it is.

For those interested in my little rascals, they are doing well also. Colt is half way through kindergarten and has done really well. River is sassy and essentially gets anything and everything she wants from me. They are growing like weeds and I wish they would slow down a bit.

Caitlin is doing well also. Our 11 year wedding anniversary is on the 20th of this month. Without question, she has been my rock. Absolutely none of this could have been accomplished without her, or my babies, or yall's prayers, or the grace of God.

Awesome news. Thanks a bunch for keeping us updated.

That's great news. Every time I carry my CZ 97B (so almost every day lol) I got from y'all back in 2018 I think of you guys and say a little prayer.

This got me to thinking about posting a "What Have You Purchased from Knifeman32" thread in the members section. Would that be ok or would that be a "how many guns you got" faux pas?

I can’t count that high. 😳

I'm slow to find stuff sometimes....

I am happy you are doing better! Continued prayers for you all.

Happy New Year!! :)

Good to hear from you man.
Wishing all the best for you and your family.

Hey @knifeman32, how’re you doing?

Hanging in there brother. Still at the doctor too often for my taste.

Overall my lab checks are good. My platelets are always low and they don't believe they will ever be "normal". Basically its my new normal. Still trying to drop weight from the years of daily steroids. It sure was easy adding it but it's certainly not as easy shedding it.

The kids are growing like weeds. Which makes me sad. River is 4 and will be 5 in December. Colt is now in first grade and is 6 years old. He will be seven in March.

Still staying low key and away from the general public. I've learned that a common cold that lasts a day or two with most, lasts around 2 weeks with me. It's a pain but I'm alive and extremely thankful for that.

Really just focusing on being a good dad and trying to bring the kids up right in a crazy world.
