It's me fellas. I'm here. This is the first post that I've made since I've been in this joint. I'm having a somewhat hard time sleeping due to the constant in and outs of all of the doctors and nurses. I have more chemo scheduled for tomorrow. So far... my body seems to be handling the drugs as well as possible. My immune system is pretty week and I have to wear a large mask whenever I leave the room. They are very particular about visitors right now simply due to have susceptible I am to infections right now.
My blood sugar is high right now due to all of the steroids so they are providing me with insulin to keep it down. I had a CT scan on my pancreas today to make sure everything was good to go with tomorrow's chemo session. Overall, I'm just tired and weak. I have pretty bad night sweats but I'm making it.
I would like to reach out to each and every one of you all. My family (and myself) sincerely appreciates the prayers. It's scary. I'm still nervous. I'm still pretty terrified. But I trust in the lord and we pray and read our bible every single night. I want to be around for a very long time to take care of my wife and my kids. They are the world to me.
I've seen the t-shirt design and I also can't thank all of you enough. I even saw the threads to raise money for us. I can't even begin to explain how much I appreciate this. It means more to me that any of you will ever know. You are all my brothers (and sisters). Thank you for taking your time and personal property to help our the Cannon family. I'm literally in tears. Your kindness, thoughts, prayers, and financial donations cannot be put into words.
As most of you know, our sole form of income is through the gun show circuit. We work these to buy new inventory each and every week and to pay our bills. Sadly, it doesn't look like we are going to be able to work shows for a while. Caitlin is staying with me day and night at the hospital. My mother has taken a leave of absence from her teaching position to take care of the kids. With my immune system in the shape that it's in and the shape that it will likely be in for months to come, we will likely have to take some time away from the shows. We are currently looking for other ways to sell guns, but it may take a bit of time to formulate a plan. I've always done all of the buying, selling, communicating, numbers, etc.. Caitlin has always been the paperwork head. Granted I often have to chip in on the paperwork as well due to the volume that we have been fortunate enough to do over the years.
We will figure it out. I'm sure.
Again, thank you so much for each and everything that all of you have done for us. You are truly great people and words cannot express how thankful we are for you. Just please continue to pray for a remission and a 100% full recovery. I'm still afraid but I'm chipping away at my fears as much as I can each day.
