He is not done himself any favors because they are going to pile on charges that will paint a picture of his guilt like "fleeing the state to avoid arrest."

As a defense attorney, I want my client to look as white as the driven snow if there is any chance I will use his testimony to support his claim of self-defense, and particularly if I’m compelled to put him on the witness stand and subject him to cross-examination.

At the end of the day, this will be the reaction of the majority of the 2A community at the very moment there's real cost to being Free.
Many of those aghast at this clear case of self defense are the same ones who brush off every infringement as no big deal, as arguing in the defense of gimmicky gadgets and things no one really needs.
They'll be first in line to turn them in, the first to name Names, and the most shocked when their collaboration gets them and their families locked in a burning church by those who promised absolution for meek obedience.
He shouldn’t have been there, but the protesters attacking him shouldn’t have been there either. Hell, should any of us really be here? There is lots of video corroborating that story. Lots. Multiple angles of the same video.
The timeline is:
- His group extinguishes a dumpster fire set by the protesters.
- One guy gets mouthy about the extinguished fire and gives chase to the (pre)shooter while throwing lit Molotov cocktail at him, cocktail misses, guy continues to give chase, gets headshot for his trouble.
- Shooter hangs around trying to call for help when the gathering crowd starts shouting "get him".
- Shooter flees.
- Several people give chase.
- Shooter stumbles.
- One protester tries to stomp shooter while on ground, gets shot for his trouble.
- Second protester tries to hit shooter while he's on the ground with a skateboard, gets shot (killed) for his trouble.
- Third protester armed with a handgun lunges for shooter while he's on the ground, gets arm shot off for his trouble.
- Shooter gets up and runs away while someone dumps a mag in his general direction and hits nothing but air.
That said, he shouldn't have been there in the first place.
That said, if I had a 17 year old son, I wish he could handle himself, and his weapon, like this kid. That kid is Wick's Mini-Me.
The Modern Philosopher Clint Smith: There is No Law. There are Only Lawyers...
This Is as simple as it looks. If this boy has enough money at his disposal this will just be a bump in the road. Oh Yeah, a big bump indeed but not one that can't be smoothed out. Given the time and the money needed. We'll see....
10 to 1 odds they shut it down.
Somebody already pointed this out But it needs repeating...That lad's Sling saved his life. There are things to be learned from this Life Festival.
I have gone from a 9mm to a 40 and from an AR 15 to an AR 10 and plenty of magazines for both in my truck.

Awesome. 50k so far.
I’m sure anything you feel willing to let go of would help. I hope that amount doubles overnight.Awesome. 50k so far.
what’s an appropriate amount to donate? I never co tributes to one before but I’m feeling overwhelmingly compelled with this one..,
Open carry is legal for any person that is 18 years or older and not prohibited from possessing a firearm under state and federal laws. Concealed carry is legal for residents with a Wisconsin Concealed Weapons License (CWL) and for non-residents with a license/permit from a state that Wisconsin honors.Jun 30, 2020
He was not prohibited from possessing the rifle under state law if he had completed Hunter Education.
Carrying a long gun in your vehicle legally in NC is clear as mud.Anyone mind pointing me to an informative thread regarding ARs in vehicle in NC? Looking to stay on the right side of the law if possible and convenient enough. Or reply here if cut and dry and won’t derail thread...
I don’t have a trunk (Jeep) and have zero interest in locking either the gun or the magazine. My AR would be either a pistol or Other configuration—not a rifle unless there is a significant legal advantage.

Yes...but then at some point it (long gun) moves from concealed to stored, which would then be ok.From what I understand, and it may not be totally correct, you can carry openly both handguns and long guns without any permits in NC. Loaded or unloaded does not make a difference. You may carry a concealed handgun but not a concealed long gun with a Concealed Handgun Permit. An AR pistol could be concealed. An AR rifle must be open.
That is probably between you and Mr. Police Officer Sir to determine when that has happened.Yes...but then at some point it (long gun) moves from concealed to stored, which would then be ok.
Who knows - the kid may go to jail or he may become an iconic hero of the Second American Revolution, or both. This Is what the full vids show. Perfect example of good reporting on your part. I noticed they left out the part about being attacked and the attempted fire bombing of him. This boy is in Trouble. Life Over. If ever there was a case of a misguided, well meaning , sadly used fella, this is it. Or so it seems right now.
Website took it down. WTH?I’m sure anything you feel willing to let go of would help. I hope that amount doubles overnight.
Safest bet is an AR pistol and a CHP. No worries about concealment or having access to it or whatever. You can’t carry it in the store, so you have to leave it in the car. You can’t leave it out in the open when you aren’t in the car, so it has to be concealed. Easier to keep it concealed all the time, but easily and quickly accessible, like on the front passenger side floor in something that doesn’t look like a gun case.
He may not have thought things through, he may have taken unnecessary risks, and he may have acted unwisely, but it seems the kid was doing some of that "free man stuff" that is often advocated and celebrated on this forum.
