I got one of these today for Christmas, and Im wondering what other accessories shouldI go with. I've seen the JKL trigger which many say is a must, a tripod, which labradar sells their own, a battery pack (is the Labradar one fine or would something else be better), and whatever other things. Any advice or suggestions?

The battery pack, SD card, tripod of your choice, and a case. The factory soft shell case isn't very good imo. Get a hard shell case and cut the foam as needed.
Should i get tripod labradar sells, or is there something better around 50-60 bucks? I already bought a pelican 1550 for it

I've got the Labradar tripod. It's nothing special. Might be able to find one on Amazon or even hit up Doug at camaraland NY.
I've got the labradar soft case. It's fine, but it lives in the closet, not seeing any hard use. If you get a and case as suggested get it big enough to pack the tripod on it, and the battery, cables etc

Also, tape a straw to the top in the sight notch. Helps a lot getting it aimed right.

I bought the bench top tripod they sell and found it useless for my uses. I think I got one that goes to 4 -5 feet or so. If you shoot prone the bench top tripod might be the way to go. From the bench, something taller.

I don't lone the way it locks the legs into position with these tabs.

I went with a Zomei Q555 (which goes up to just over 60"), but it has the locking tabs like in the pic above if it matters to you. Check in with @gr8fuldoug at cameraland. There are SEVERAL tripods that will fit the bill.

While I have used a Labradar quite a bit, it was someone else's that I borrowed when I needed it. I just picked up my own a couple of months ago. I went ahead and got the tripod and case. The tripod works better than the metal plate stand they used to sell, and it works for me shooting from a bench. But, a better tripod will be a future purchase, as it can be used for spotting scopes, brass catcher, etc.

I installed the bluetooth app on my iPhone as soon as I got the Labradar, and it worked very well. Then, I upgraded the app as soon as a newer version was available, and it has gone to crap. It disconnects frequently, I can't change settings without the app crashing, etc. Apparently it is a known problem now. I'm still waiting to hear from Labradar. So, if you have the older version app and it is working well, DON'T UPGRADE.

Same has been true for Android and Samsung. My fancy 2020 Samsung galaxy will not connect. I keep an old Nexus 5 with the labradar because it's working fine.

I finally got a reply back from LabRadar.

Sorry for the late reply, we are currently actively working on the issue, it has been reported that the settings page is bugged right now.
We are investigating which IOS version is causing the trouble and trying to fix it as soon as possible.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, in the meantime would it be possible to reach the unit to modify the settings from the unit itself?

Thanks for your patience,

I asked them if it was possible to revert to the previous version, since that worked perfectly. Waiting for a reply.

I bought the one for our club about 5 yrs ago. I got the flat metal base and orange soft bag. Bought a USB battery pack off Amazon but they strongly recommend buying theirs. Our benches are these big wooden wrap around with plenty of room for putting the chrono on the bench with the pistol or rifle bbl as close as possible to the front of the chrono. Worked great for 5 years until somebody dropped it and broke the mother board off internally. Funny thing is it still worked but I sent it back and had it repaired for like $75. Have not ever used it on a tripod. Looks to be problematic and a PITA. THey initially insisted thats the only way it would work. If you got a big enough bench, just put it on the bench or shoot prone.

Got another reply:

We are still working on the fix for it, unfortunately it is impossible to go back to the previous version.

Please be patient, the fix should be out soon.
