The touch up paint for my truck is a bit thick. I don't want to buy a quart of thinner just for a drop or two.

My neighbor has this

Can it be used as lacquer thinner?

Is your touch up paint Laquer?? Alot of the touch up paints are enamel or epoxy based. Find out exactly what you have and use the appropriate stuff.

The touch up paint I have is Dupli-color It appears that it is acrylic enamel, although it doesn't say so on the pen.

Thanks for saving me from screwing this up

EDIT: I can't find info on the pen, but the spray can is acrylic lacquer.

If you are using the pen aren’t you supposed to

1. overfill the chip to start with.

2. allow to thoroughly dry.

3. color sand.

4. buff it out.

I believe it’s supposed to be thicker than usual. I thought you were spraying a rocker panel or something.

No just tiny little rock chips. The paint is thick and doesn't flow well from the pen

The brush works better but still the paint is thick

I would just overfill chips and have a sheet of 1000 and 1500 paper around.

If you have never done ant serious paint/body work it’s scary to do.

I understand completely.
