I need some info on a holster for a Ruger LC9S Pro. Based on good experience with a holster I have for a Kel Tec I bought the same style holster ( Guardian ) from Next Holsters at the Dixie gun show a few months back.

I wanted to wear the holster around the house for a while to get comfortable with it before going out in the real world. It fits pretty well, comfort is not bad. Problem is I can't draw the damn gun!! The front edge of the ejection port is pretty deep with a very sharp pronounced corner When worn IWB the belt collapses the holster right over the ejection port which makes the draw impossible. Also, the top back corner of the front sight is a very sharp 90 degree corner as well which is also biting into the holster. Looking inside the holster you can easily see what is going on.

At the next gun show I went by the Next Holster booth and explained my problem. The response from Next was to spray some silicone on the gun and in the holster. Sounded like a bullshit answer to me.

I like the Next Guardian style because it uses two belt clips and is leather. I don't know if two belt clips are necessary but it makes me feel better. If one clip will suffice, tell me.

So all that leads me to the question of what do you like for a holster for the LC9 and why? I know fieldgrade has experience with this. I'm also going to send chiefjason a P/M.

I had a CJ all leather OWB and it fit great. I sold the gun and the holster, but not because of any holster issues. I believe Jason's IWB are hybrids, meaning the part that is giving you trouble would be kydex (with a leather back) and the ejection port wouldn't hang up like that on kydex.

I can do hybrid or full leather. I do quite a few full leather IWB holsters but but probably 3-4x as many OWB leather holsters to IWB holsters. Not that I can't, just my reputation for OWB proceeds me. lol

BTW, the ejection port can be an issue but my guess is the biggest issue with that holster is there is absolutely no sight channel molded in for the front sight. One of those issues might be workable, but both are hard to overcome. I mold a partial sight channel into all my holsters. The silicone spray isn't a terrible suggestion, but it can't overcome a poor design on the holster.

I'll send you a link to my photo bucket pics of my holsters.
