Anybody used these and have a particular brand from eBay/Amazon that works?

I swapped some LEDs into my factory (‘03 Ram) fog lights and they do OK. Haven’t tried it with headlights since I assume they’ll throw light wrong for all oncoming traffic.

But I’d like to try some for the reverse bulbs just for a little better visibility.

Lasfit makes good stuff. I got these for reverse lights for the VW and can finally see with the reverse camera, they're bright.

If you've got modern reflectors in the headlights, good LEDs will maintain proper beam geometry as the actual led chips are in the same place as the filament in an incandescent bulb. Older basic reflectors will just throw light everywhere.

I put some in my '14 Passat and the GF's '14 Suburban (high and low in both) and they're AWESOME. The difference in brightness will leave you wondering how you ever drove at night without them. @Group23 can probably chime in with his experience too.

Not that brand but whatever Advance Auto stocks. Anyways I was unimpressed for backup lights so moved them to daytime running lights. (2002 Chevy Silverado).

Look at lumen ratings (if provided) and reviews on the cheaper ones - often have obviously overinflated ratings or problems with heat / hyperflash / resistors required. I've tried some in the past that I have tossed and replaced, but LED technology has improved significantly in last few years.

My car forum guys really like Diode Dynamics stuff, but it's a little more $$$ https://www.diodedynamics.com/backup-leds-for-1994-2006-dodge-ram-pair.html
Note they have three different varieties for your model, up to 800 lumens. Can often find discount codes for them, I can get you a free shipping code if you go with them at least.

No personal experience other than reading about their stuff (yet). I have bought from them but haven't put in yet (plug in replacement LED strip to replace my car's dim trunk light)

Yeah, there's a lot of crap out there for sure.

https://www.headlightrevolution.com/ has a lot of high prices stuff and I've never ordered from them. I used them for their reviews on what to look for, what's good, what's bad, which led styles are better than others, and their recommendations. Then I went and bought elsewhere for less.

I’ve used many of the Amazon brands on different vehicles, and for cheap stuff I like Auxbeam with Lasfit being a close 2nd.

I’ve had poor luck with the non-headlight LEDs though. The exposed solder connections tend to corrode in about 6mo causing the lights to flicker.

As for headlights, do not use LEDs on your truck! You’re exactly right, you’ll throw light all over the place blinding everyone.
Reflector housings = NO LED
Projector housings = LED OK (for most vehicles)

I ordered these. Will give them a shot.

If they don’t work well I’ll grab a pair of the Lasfit instead.

Bulbs arrived today. Took a couple pics as I swapped them out. Dang iPhone camera makes everything too bright, but you’ll get the idea.

You can tell the difference in color in these:

It’s not quite as bright as this pic indicates, but it’s definitely brighter and whiter…
