Lemme hold a dollar. Quarter? Coin shortage?

Our bill was 25.10. I gave the girl 21 bucks. She told me she didn’t have any change and that she was sorry.
I would have stood there gawking at you with my hand out! :D

I was in the Pigeon Forge area for 4 days last week, no signs about a coin shortage that I saw.

Just a FYI, gas was $1.95.

.

I went to the c store in Leland Wednesday and purchased a drink and chips. I got change. They had a sign that stated “we will by your coin change”. So I had to ask how much will you pay me for my change? The clerk said” we will give you face value”. I told him that ain’t buying that’s exchanging. He also told me I didn’t have to roll it that they would count it for me. What a deal.

So...................is the coin shortage over since the election is over? I'm not seeing signs anymore asking for exact change.

Yes, All problems were resolved with a régime correction.

Now on to problems this régime will create to replace the old régimes problems.

They're getting rid of cash and coins anyway, so doesn't matter. You will be issued credits that will be added or deducted electronically depending on your compliance to the system. To insure security, bio-identification and compliance "marking" ID will be required in order to make purchases.

I turned on the local news this morning for the first time since the election. The first story they reported was that Biden wants to replace Jackson with Harriet Tubbman on the twenty.

I turned it back off in the middle of the story. Wish I had never turned it back on....

Seen the signs for over six months at Sheetz, Home Deopt and other stores. Some stores don't give you cash back anymore, saves a trip to the ATM.

Would it be less expensive if they put up a few monuments instead?

Why do we have a coin shortage again? Two fast food joints today. One had a sign indicating a coin shortage so I gave them a card. Six hours later and twenty miles away I handed the girl in the drive-thru a ten spot for an $8.87 tab and she gave me two paper ones in return. She said she had no coin change in her drawer. I told her I would have put it on the card if I had known.

I have noticed the signs around Wilmington in the last week or so. Seems to be mostly gas stations. I’ve been working on Oak Island the past 6 weeks and haven’t noticed anything down there.

Our wal mart is accepting cash only in the cashier lanes, not self checkout. The cashier lanes, of course, are outnumbered by the self checkout lanes 10 to 1, and have longer lines. This greatly discourages the use of cash. I imagine that has some impact on the monetary velocity of coins and makes them less likely to wind up at banks and other retailers. Especially if more larger retailers are doing the same thing.

cubrock, we have noticed that as well.

various stores are increasing the difficulty of using cash
to pay for something, or not allowing cash payment at all.
our FORMER dry cleaner does not accept cash.

Read this to them off the bill: “This note is legal tinder for all debts, public and private “.

I haven't seen the change shortage pop up around here again. The first time I see it, I'm going to hand them a bag of dimes, nickels, and pennies and tell them I'll trade it for folding money. I doubt it they want any change if it's available.

Two weeks ago I stopped in the QT on Carowinds Blvd. Made a purchase for $2.58, handed the girl 3 $1 bills and she then handed me a receipt that said "gift certificate" but no change. I asked "what's up with this". She tells me to keep it and use it on my next purchase. I told her no thanks, I'll take a refund. She gives me back $2.58. I guess she thought I was going to keep the gift certificate. I had to "explain" to her that I gave her $3 and that's what I needed back.

Neighbor takes his change to gas station or Hardee's. Goes back later and they give him cash. He knows them so its no big deal for him to leave. He'll give them like $70 in change at a time so they like him enough to be honest so he comes back.
