Does anyone know where to buy a "defrost control board and sensors" for a 1987 Lennox HVAC unit?

My dad asked for help and I don't even know where to start. His repair man said they cannot get it.

If you Google the defrost control board part number it will prolly give you several options
 
If a modern replacement is not available, the board could be repaired, resistors and capacitors age and can get out of tolerance.
 
Check a parts distributor like D&L Parts in Charlotte. The part may be no longer available in which case youā€™re SOL.

I asked if he knew where the board was and could get a number off of it and he said "no šŸ¦Œ"
 
35 years old? Impressive!
 
Could be board, could be low on refrigerant. 90% of board replacements are low charge from a leak. Sensor measures temp of coils. Low charge of refrigerant give bad sensor reading.

Make sure the refrigerant is correct before buying a board. If it has leaked and had charge added you have a bad diagnostics.
 
Charlotte has a Lennox distributor. They will not sell to the public. Heck they will not even sell to me without opening an account.
