I saw him as an opening act to John Prine at Avery Fisher Hall on Broadway, 1978
I was 16 at the time.

He came to SAS one time to shoot a video for them. The production folks said he was one strange dude. They picked him up at the airport, he was standing on the crub like everyone else, with a guitar case and that was it.

I saw Leo Kottke and Leon Redbone (same show, different acts) in '78, opening for Jimmy Buffet. Saw Leon again in ... 2013 or so? in Asheville. He played well, but seemed a little confused at times. I thought he was much older. RIP, thanks for the music!
