Fitting The 1911 Barrel Part 3: The Link - Firearms News
In Parts 1 and 2 of this series, we fitted the hood and lugs of a Kart barrel to our pistol. Next,

FWIW, I found something near the bottom that I wholeheartedly, vehemently disagree with. If only I could make a comment on the page...
"Check link-down clearance with the slide stop. It should follow the contour of the barrel lugs closely as it moves from locked to unlocked position without binding on the corner of the lugs. If it hits the lugs, you can clearance the inside bottom of the slide stop hole slightly with a chain saw file"
No! No! No! Relieving the bottom of the slidestop pin hole defeats the purpose of fitting for maximum vertical engagement...or "lockup" if you prefer. If the pin is binding with the forward radius of the lower lug when the barrel is linked down...relieve the lug...not the pin hole.
Everything else is good to go.
ETA:
It appears that there's now an error with the posted link. May be just a glitch in the website. Hopefully, it'll be fixed later today.
