In the early eighties Stevens I think, produced a copy of the kimal kamper which was made by Savage.
The version I saw was a 20 gauge any of you older guy remember seeing one of these and or know the model numbe

I remember two versions … one was a “pistol” grip and the other was an ugly “boat oar” short stock both with a 18.5” barrel to meet NFA regs. The “pistol” grip style was nothing special but the “boat oar” was crazy looking … like a stock with about 6” chopped off the back and a storage compartment for ammo built in. A 20ga “boat oar” would be a cool pickup at the right price.

Yeah the Stevens boat oar one is the one I'm interested in
I think it may have been called the snake charmer but when I googled that name all I get are the modern versions

I remember something about a Snake Charmer before H&R made their modern version BUT I seem to remember it was a .410 and more of a short barreled pistol that fell into the gray zone like the Marble Game Getter combo folder … and went “AOW” under the 1934 NFA. The only one I am really familiar with is the Savage version mentioned above.

Funny try as I might my Google Fu can't find anything on the Stevens.
It had a lighter finish and the barrel release was mounted on the tang
It would eat your hand up if you weren't careful.
