Mag release question

I have a buddy from CA and he gave me a lower with the stupid CA mag button where you got to use a bullet or something to release the mag
Can it be taken out and replaced with a new mag release

Yes, should be straight forward change out like any other AR mag release.

Yep, former California escape here, it was actually called a bullet button believe it or not. I had them all removed at the local gun store when I moved here seven years ago, it was easy.
