Ive been looking into the magpul mlok rail covers. Not sure if they are worth buying though. Seem like a cool looking upgrade that improves texture just not sure if they are worth the buy.

Personally, I do recommend rail covers.....some rail covers. Textured plastic covers offer better grip and some degree of insulation from heat. The soft rubber covers really don't offer much improvement in grip texture or insulation.
They're cheap...try them and decide for yourself.

Good for protecting the handguard from getting beat up if you care about that sort of thing, but when it comes to actual grip/comfort, not my cup of tea. I don't like anything that increases the OD of the handguard. Just seem like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, especially if you wear gloves.

Most metal AR handguards I've tried get warm after a couple mags. I imagine it could get too hot to touch at some point. I wouldn't know, I'm poor and can't afford that much ammo. But I would think it would be a good idea to have some kind of insulation around your rail for a serious self-defense rifle.

I like them, as a matter of fact, I've pretty much sworn by them all the way back to their ladder type for 4 rail handguards.

I see your point, but then couldn't gloves be considered a rail cover? Hmmm.

Magpul type 2 MLOK covers are good but I prefer the slimmer BCM covers.
Yep that’s what I meant to say. Haha. Thinking BCM and wrote Larue.

Although for a quad rail, I do like the Larue snap on rail covers.

I love them, they protect really well against heat and have really good texture, not as aggressive as I’d like but still enough, i really wanna try the larue ones though

I’m recently enjoying Magpul type 1’s on one of my rifles. My favorite of the last several years are the Ergo Wedgelok. Many colors/patterns to choose from.

I also use Railscales. Just great in my opinion but very very expensive for what they are 🤷🏼

I like shock/bungee cord.

Good texture for grip, provides good routing/management of cords and allows for good heat dissipation.

I have a good amount of black and OD Magpul type 2. If anyone wants them, they can pick em up in High Point or send me $5 for shipping 😎

I have a Burnproof Gear handguard cover. It worked well to manage the WML cable.
