Man shoots masked grandson who broke into Burke County home, police say

That is Harsh!!
Hard to wrap my head around someone justifying home invasion of a family member, opposed to asking for help, or guidance from one.
Bad Decisions begat Bad Results... WTF
 
I have the feeling that if he was living in a hotel and couldn't make rent he prob had hit gramps up for money before.
Gramps had prob turned him down, therefore the home invasion.
 
Stiry says he was living at Lowman’s Motel. Believe me that is far from a nice place to live. Place has been a dump for 40 years and my best friend’s grandfather owned it. Lots seedy people with drug issues.

Reminds me of another story about Burke County. Wife’s niece’s son got shot in the mouth by his pastor father while they were playing neighborhood watch for theives. Dad fell asleep in his car and his son approached and woke him up. Terrified Dad shot him with a handgun but his teethe shattering slowed the bullet. Eats funny now.
 
Feel bad for what the grandfather is going through.

The kid however. The world is better off after his departure. Anybody with morals THAT loose and flexible isn't a good person.

It was shut for a time after the old man died. In my young days I would get free rooms and have wrestling (and more) with females at Lowman’s Motel.

Not sure why Longview Police responded because the crime was 3 streets out of their jurisdiction.

Sad times for grandfather but justified. If he is angry enough to break in, he’s a serious threat to kill him. Sounds like the Motel (slum) was placing him out.

Sounds like the grandson is still alive. Now, whether he’ll learn anything is another matter.
 
Officials tried to airlift the grandson to a hospital but they decided at the last minute to take him by ambulance.

I like the way "officials" in Burke County think.
 
Two streets west and across the tracks from me. Bad area. So is Lowmans.

I figured it was close to you.

Lowman's used to have a near-daily police presence. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to find out the kid was methed up.
