Could one of you find fellows be so kind as to post a picture of a Mares leg in 357 or 44 with a tape measure in the photo so I can see some reference pins for measure? Specifically wondering the length of the forend but wouldn't mind seeing where some other parts fall on a tape.

i'm out. i only have the henry in 22. my 357 is rossi

Okay, I obviously had no clue what that was and when I read the title, all I could think was why does he need help measuring a horse leg.
Learned something new today.

Least he wasn't asking folks to measure their hog leg.

Years ago there was a delinquent in our neighborhood who was confronted by an upstanding community member. A family friend was chatting with my uncle and I said something to the effect of " joe went over to his house to tell him to cut out all his thieving and was pretty mad. He took his mares leg with him and you don't wanna mess with Joe when he brings out his mares leg"

I was maybe 14, and spent probably 2 years wondering why in the hell Joe kept a horses leg, why he'd use it to get a point across, where did he get the horses leg, did he have to keep it frozen or did it just stink, etc.
