Guys....

This could be may of us if red flag laws are passed and other things happen in NC like they have in VA MD and other states close by. If this is considered stockpiling, then.......

Dude plead guilty. I don't think that's much like any of us at all.

I inferred that he pled to a lesser "gun and drug" charge to avoid a domestic terrorism conspiracy rap. I also inferred that he was poorly represented.

I've been looking and so far google is making it very difficult to find out what was charged and what he plead to. All I get are poorly written opinion pieces crafted around leftist buzzwords.

ETA from the WIKI:

On February 27, 2019, Hasson was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of unlawful possession of silencers; possession of firearms by a drug addict and unlawful use; and possession of a controlled substance (specifically, tramadol).

Hasson initially pleaded not guilty, but in October 2019, Hasson entered a guilty plea to three charges: possession of tramadol without a prescription and illegal possession of firearms and the firearm silencers. (Under U.S. federal law, a person who is a "unlawful user and addict of a controlled substance" is prohibited from owning firearms).[1] Hasson admitted that, from 2016 to 2019, he ordered at least 4,650 tramadol pills over the Internet, and admitted that he knowingly possessed firearm silencers that "were not registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record, and that they did not have serial numbers, as required by law."[1

As far as I can tell they never charged him with anything related to terrorism or conspiracy but that's what all the articles center on.

I used to take tramadol relatively regularly for headaches...they are about as psychoactive as a can of red bull. This is silly.

This is from the prior Washington Post story on Hasson:

"
“The defendant — inspired by racist murderers — stockpiled assault weapons, studied violence, and intended to exact retribution on minorities and those he considered traitors. But for the diligent actions of multiple federal law enforcement agencies, we now would be counting bodies of the defendant’s victims instead of years of the defendant’s prison time,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Windom wrote.

Hasson’s lawyers provided the court with a report prepared by Stephen Hart, an expert in violence risk assessment. Hart examined the evidence cited by prosecutors and rejected their theory that Hasson intended to carry out an attack."

Checks all the boxes: military experience, an "arsenal" or "cache" of weapons and hundreds or thousands of rounds of ammo, and some random unrelated charge that will be icing on the cake. This guy is lucky they didn't roll out the SRT guys in full gear and shoot the dog as in the case of all suspected terrorists.

Rinse, Repeat. Rinse, Repeat.

If an imminent threat was thwarted by LEO, congrats to the work of those men and women.

As for the reporters, well, shame on you. what ever happen to 'facts'? Facts sound like this "a man charged on alleged conspiracy to commit terrorism blah blah. When police officers and investigators secured the scene 15 firearms were confiscated as evidence in the investigation"....Now, toilet trash, hyperbolic liberal bull shit sounds like this "a gun nut terrorist with arsenal in his home has been arrested"...see difference? 'arsenal' is not a 'fact' its a word to describe a collection of weapons w/o regard to any specific quantity and, often colloquially used with implied negative connotation. Such reporting is therefore the result of either (1) unconditional stupidity, (2) intentionally injected as subtle pejorative to constantly degrade the perception of gun owner, or (3) being a dramatic media whore with ass cheeks spread wide open for an extra click.

At least in this case the guy had 15 guns, I've seen 'arsenal' used in these liberal rags when it was like 3-4 guns...pathetic.

Looks like a healthy stockpile to me... Usually it's a couple old rifles, a pistol, and 27 rounds of ammo... Sure many here own more. I may or may not. Lost count after the boating accident. Regardless, that's a lot more guns and gun stuff than 90% of the gun owners in the country would have... Not exactly fake news, IMO...

Red flags. What’s that quote from Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn about how to handle these things?

Too many Fudd guns in the photo to be a true convictable terrorist, jmho. Not one grenade, rocket launcher or the like, pure BS.

I can pull that out of my truck at any given time!

Ammo cans is evidence enough he was up to no good.

goofyfoot is right.
that guy's arsenal had a total of 6 pistols...
I've currently got 6 not in the safe, staged in different places. Trying to decide which one #7 should be.
this house is much bigger than my last one.
