It occurred to me that the reason Mayberry was so peaceful and quiet was because nobody was married. Andy, Aunt Bea, Barney, Floyd, Howard, Goober, Gomer, Sam, Ernest T. Bass , Helen, Thelma Lou, Clara and, of course, Opie, were all single. The only married person was Otis, and he stayed drunk.

What about the mayor. He was married and miserable.

Floyd was married as was sam All those seemed miserable bas well

Besides Andy, there was a bunch of widowers too.

Ok..the guys are all single and widowers. I guess they didn't put up with any crap.
And Barney was an idiot. I woulda been making Thelma Lou's babies every day.
