Got a Milwaukee drill/driver for my birthday last Sept. I asked for the specific model. Fairly small with small batteries. I wanted to keep it in my Pilot for screwing stuff together or back together at the range. Tested it out, Charged both batteries up. Put it in my Pilot. A few months later I needed oil change and tire rotation. Took everything out of my Pilot. Left drill/driver in doctors bag it came with in my garage. Finally got around to putting everything back in my Pilot after Xmas. Checked drill to see if I needed to charge batteries. Drill didnt work. Batteries supposedly charged.

You have to use Milwaukee online app to generate warranty repair ticket and shipper. Sent just the drill back to their service depot in Greenwood, MS. About a week later got "A" drill driver back. Not the one I sent them and not a new one. You can look up S/N on their website and the one they sent back was 5 yrs old and out of warranty. I called the CS line and told her this situation was unacceptable. She sent me a shipper to send it somewhere else. I also told her one of my original batteries showed green in charger but did not work in the 5 yr old drill they sent me. She said fill out warranty claim on line and send it back. So I did.

Today I got a new drill and a new battery via Fedex. Pretty happy about the final outcome but not happy about having to go thru the BS and run up to the Fedex copy center, twice. If I hadnt, the boxes with their broken crap in it would still be sitting on my porch. Of course all these wonderful power tools are now made in China. I have another Milwaukee drill that has been trouble free but before that I had one of their chargers go bad and their local repair depot/dealer tried to stick it to me on that by telling me it was out of warranty. It wasnt. They just wanted to see if I would buy a new one from them. Bastards. Im probably done with Milwaukee forever now. Most contractors I see are using Dewalt power tools now.

I hate that you have had an issue with them that sucks. The only problem I had was a weed eater I had to send off twice for the same issue. But I bought it at a local dealer and they took care of all the shipping and warranty work.

I have had great success with all the other tools I have that are Milwaukee.

Glad it worked out for you. I cant complain with their warranty service on the items i have sent back. Its always been quick and they payed freight but I have also always used the online warranty request off their site and just printed the shipping label and boxed it myself and shipped it out. Most of the complaints I have seen about them and warranty issues seem to be when people went threw a dealer or used a third party on the claim leading me to beleave its the third party dropping the ball. Ones i sent back they sent me a actual work order on all the things they found wrong and items they fixed and so far they have always repaired more issues than i reported including things like worn a chuck.

The used drill they sent me initially had a worn out chuck. I dont know who their local depot is anymore but it used to be over near the old (Raleigh) farmers mkt. That outfit sucked.

@COTTON not true.

Dewalt has a 90 day ZERO questions return a 1 year swap out and a 3 year repair/ replace warranty. Now after the year possibly this send it in and we'll repair etc. Had a 60v weedeater the shaft bent from bumping the head ti feed string...they were going to send me the part...after a few weeks nothing so I followed up they said part is back ordered and verified my address and sent a new weed eater.

That’s great service. But I’ve had bad experiences with dewalt and repairs.

It didn’t turn me off to the brand as these types of things are hit and miss.

I switched to Milwaukee years later for other reasons. Mainly their high torque impacts. Their grease gun and a few other tools nobody else really had.

If I have a warranty issue with them I’ll go into it expecting the worse just like I do with everyone.

I have found that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I have been firm, polite and professional (and have a plan to kill everyone I meet) and told them that what they were proposing was unacceptable . Ive gotten my way everytime. I worked for the same company twice in my pro career that had an excellent product, the best customer support and the best customer service. All our competition had to offer was low price.

Turned in a Ridgid for warranty. Got a new drill. Drill failed because a floor was soaking wet for months and constant pressure on a hole saw burned up the motor. Wet wood is a pain. Never had another issue on dozens of Ridgid battery operated tools.

Milwaukee is a great product in the pro series tools. Their warranty methods don’t get great reviews unless sites clean up the reviews.

Seems kind of funny that we are discussing warranty repairs. Some of my good old USA tools are still running and are a lot older than most on this site. Good made US shite will last for decades if taken care of. It is sad that we have to depend on warranty repairs nowadays.
