Saw something online the other day that spawned this. I might could go a little more minimalist but not much. Wore it out the other day and it held great and stayed put. Might order some stronger magnets and see if there is any interest. Going to wear it around a few more times before I decide.

Wow! I always thought about a way to have a mag holder that would allow you to change mags with one hand. Looks like you might have it there.

Worn on the right side (if you are right handed) bullets facing down, you could drop the empty, bring the pistol down to your side and start it over the exposed end of the mag and then roll it around until the butt of the mag is pressed against your side and drive it home. Provided your clothes don't get caught up in it.

One day, you'll look down and the mag will be gone. That's true for me anyway. I loose stuff already with clips, carabiners, etc. Personally, I thinkit needs some indexing stops or indentions that it drops into for more stability.

You mean like Lara Croft at 1:30?

I saw a minimalist mag holder I like...the holder clipped onto the belt, but did not have a pouch, just a small frame with three little 'hooks' (one on the bottom and on either side). The tension of the hooks held the mag in.

What keeps it from twisting? Maybe two magnets?

What happens if you walk past a bunch of screws on your bench?

I saw the movie but that wasn't the part I was focused on. LOL

Just looking at that makes me a little nervous..........

Currently there are two because I had weaker magnets on hand. Not sure how I would approach it with the stronger magnets.

FWIW, I wore it around Sam's for about an hour, went to 2 other stores. So in and out of the car a few times. Never really noticed that it moved.

Like everything else, upsides and down sides. It does make you nervous to look at it. But can be used with any steel mag of any size. Would not work with Glock or aluminum mags.

Might be able to run a welt along the bottom to help with any twist.

There's a great solution.

I have a neodymium coin magnets that I’ve used to secure knives in upside-down sheaths attached to the shoulder straps of waders.

Honestly, with some of the magnets out there, my biggest concern would be TOO much retention, especially with wet hands.

With good magnets, if that magazine drops off the belt, you have bigger problems. E.g., you’ve probably been blown apart in an explosion.

Interested to hear how it holds out. Trusting magnets seems sketchy, but if it works that’s an awesome idea.

Will those magnets hold glock mags?

I have a sheath with magnets for retention. I absolutely love it! I use 2 of the bar magnets for my Esse 4 and it's a sharp pull to release it.

If you can find tupperware magnets I'll get right on it. On second thought, maybe if you use steel case ammo? 😎
