it’s “weird” that states can legalize marijuana against federal law without much consequence

will be interesting to see how this plays out

The law, signed by Missouri Governor Mike Parson, “prohibits state and local cooperation with federal officials that attempt to enforce any laws, rules, orders, or actions that violate the Second Amendment rights of Missourians,”

Declaring this law unconstitutional under the supremacy clause is an interesting tactic.

Gov's from 15 minutes down the road. Not a career politico either, but a retired cow farmer. Seems universally respected by the locals.

Dunno how all this will shake out. If MO decides to ignore the Feds, it'll take the intervention of Fed troops to do anything about it.

Missourians are a proud, hard bitten people & rather adamant about being left TF alone. Not saying MO will be the next SC, but this is the place that spawned Bloody Bill Anderson, Quantrill's Raiders & the James-Younger Gang. If MO refuses to comply, what are they really gonna do about it?

A couple of the local personages of importance have accepted me into their circle. Folks here are well aware of current events & I hear tell carpetbaggers & Redlegs will find our ground very costly.

the only thing the feds can ever do about anything, threaten to pull funding from something

True, but at that stage of the game, couldn't MO decide to stop forwarding Fed tax monies to DC? Guess we'll see how far each side is willing to go.

i would absolutley *&%%&^&^&^%%% love for them to do so, the feds have long overstepped the boundaries of the agreement

But if MO doesn’t comply, they’ll write more mean articles in the NYT about them! 😥

🤣🤣🤣

So on the scale of political things, are mean articles better or worse than mean tweets? Man it's confusing. I feel like Joe Biden trying to figure these things out.

Let's see - it's okay for state and local agencies to refuse to cooperate with federal agents acting to enforce federal immigration laws but it is not okay for state and local agencies to refuse to cooperate with federal agents acting to enforce federal firearms laws.

Maybe Merrick Garland and the other dictator wannabes at the DOJ need to get slapped repeatedly by the Supreme Court and then removed from office by the next Congress.

The unfortunate part of that is, the SC is not ruling from the Constitution. But, from their feelings....

Obviously the mean tweets of the past from “the last guy” killed just shy of 15 million people...it is proven scientific fact! These mean articles are directed at these icky gun people so obviously they are good!!!

DoJ hoping the state folds. They know it would take years to get to SCOTUS. Before then, Dems will likely have repealed pot prohibition to avoid the obvious hypocrisy that even the left wing on SCOTUS would have a hard time ignoring, though they certainly would try.
