Finally living on my property. Need a lightweight, easy to attach holster for when wife walks the dogs on her own. Trying to avoid the box of LNIB holsters in the attic with this gun. Anyone using one they actually like?

I'm in Eli Whitney. Come see me one weekend if you want a custom kydex solution. Easy on/off = either a paddle or one of my OWB pancakes with speedease loops. I don't have a MkIV so would need to mold from your gun while you wait.

I was thinking custom options because I'd like to keep the 507c on it. Just need to upgrade from your stock 507 mount first.

For optic equipped guns I make them optic cut (meaning kydex doesn't touch the optic at all) so changing optics/mounts shouldn't matter much.

Another vote for @RR kydex. I own several of his creations and they are fantastic. I wear a owb pancake w a G19 daily.

I too am in need of a holster for MKIV 22/45, but he’s 3.5 hours from me.

Maybe if enough people want one, we can chip in for a blue gun for him.

No need to chip in. With a confirmed order I'll buy one :).

Ok, optics cut with a comp confirmed. I can measure the comp.

Sending PM

Look in the sponsor section of the forum. Haw River Forge is me.

This got me curious. Cooks and Rings finally did a MKIV mold. But no lites. I need to work something up in leather since I have a MKIV target. None of mine are easy on/off though. I stopped dealing with it because folks seemed to think they were all compatible and complained when their lite didn't fit right.

Yeah that'll be a problem. In the MKIII at least the aluminum Lite versions are larger in diameter at the barrel/shroud than the all steel version.

Sorry non- local guys. I'll keep a lookout for a compatible blue gun....

I'm in for one RR. If you weren't three hours away I'd bring you mine to mold off.

Looks like the newer lite is the same. The receiver looks to be the same width as the barrel. So you could make it reverse compatible most likely if you work from the lite. But not working from the Target. Especially with kydex. Leather I can sometimes fudge a bit but that makes me nervous.

That's precisely the issue. I have several MK3s and 2s so I've never had to worry about a blue gun before the 4. I've not bought a 4 and not really interested in buying one because I'm one of those weirdos who can disassemble a 3 blindfolded.

Didn't realize there wasn't a blue gun compatible with the larger aluminum receiver/shroud. Given how popular the Lite versions are that's surprising.

Yeah, not much rhyme or reason to it. I had to beg, borrow, then buy a Taurus G2. That was well worth it. I made holsters for over a year before a mold came out. One of my most popular holsters, S&W X Frame, now does not have a mold available because all 3 businesses that made them got out of gun molds. It took me years to find a S&W N Frame mold and then it was not full lug. Took a few more years to track down a full lug version. Now you can't find one again.

FWIW, Cooks seems to be the up an comer in the holster specific molds game. Might be worth reaching out to them. They are starting to mold for a lot of lights and optics on their guns.
