Modifying SB Tactical brace ?

I have the brace on my AK pistol but I hate that in ''locks'' into the closed position and is a pain to unlock.
I was wondering if anyone has modified the ''locking slot?
I was thinking of removing some of the metal...red line in pic. So I could open it easier.

I thought about the same with the AK style brace that came on my JAKL. The more I examined the mechanism to see exactly where it was getting hung up and why, then comparing to my FS1913 which was significantly smoother, I concluded that minor tweaks are likely all that’s needed.

I would probably try a less aggressive cut since you can put it back once removed. Also, the other portion may need some attention since the angles won’t match anymore.

Sig has the right idea with the the stock on the new Spear LT. It’s a minimalist stock with a very similar folding mechanism to the SB braces but it has a button that’s easy to hit with you thumb to unlock it.
