Wednesday night my mom was struck by a car while crossing the road in greenville, SC. The vehicle ran a red light, struck her, and fled the scene. She's got some serious brain swelling and bleeding that has become a little more stable over the past days, but she's not out of the woods yet. Just wanted to give everyone an update. They moved her from the trauma icu to the nuero icu and cut a "flap" to relieve the pressure on her brain. I'm not a doctor and don't pretend to be one, but it seems she has turned the corner and we're now in a state of waiting for the swelling to go down to assess cognitive health. She is now able to eat and speaks short choppy words and phrases. I appreciate all of the prayers that have been sent her way, and although it's probably a hard road ahead, her faith is strong and i don't believe God is done with her yet.
