Well MKC dropped their mini speedgoat in magnacut last night. Sold out in 4 min. I was able to snag a couple. This blade may be pretty good for hikers. Plan on gifting one to daughters fiancé.

I think it would be an almost perfect hiking blade.

I just got some magnacut for my shop. I may do a few small knives to see how I like it.

I would look at getting one of these if they put G10 handles on them instead of the paracord. For skinning deer, I think the paracord would hold blood and not be able to clean well. I know the Blackfoot has G10, but the blade is a little too long for my preference.

If the tangs are skeletalized it wouldn’t be that difficult to add G10 scales. I think it’s interesting that the home site video discusses using this knife for processing an elk but the knife’s definition says it’s non- hunting. Or maybe I’m just reading it wrong. Mane they mean it’s good for hunting and other non hunting chores.
The Speedgoat has become one of our most popular knives because of its weight, thinness, and toughness. Meet its little brother, The Mini-Speedgoat - now in Magnacut! The Magnacut Mini-Speedgoat is tough enough to tackle the same tasks as the Speedgoat, but the smaller, thinner, and lighter design makes it even more ideal for non-hunting purposes.

G 10 is too heavy for the ounce counters. Consider micarta or carbon fiber if trying to keep the weight down.
For ounce counters this is true. Carbon fiber would be stealthy.

It's a non issue. I cleaned one Tuesday with it. Washes right out. FWIW, I like the Speedgoat a bit better than the Mini. But the Mini is a nice blade. I'll eventually end up with another speedgoat. And try to not loose that one. They text dropped a MAGNACUT Speedgoat the other week and were selling a flannel shirt that matches the orange paracord. I had to walk away bet was really tempted on that one.

I hear what @chiefjason says, but I just can't believe it would wash out all that well! Probably my medical side showing through. I'm far from a germaphobe but I hate things I can't get clean when I want to!
