Another successful class for Kelly on the Grom. She did the 1pm class, and after it was over, we had about an hour before the second group fired up. So, I jumped on one of Katie's Groms and we took off in the parking lot. She ended up making a big transformation in her riding yesterday, and was rolling really well.

She was upshifting to 4th, and was downshifting when she needed to climb the hilly curve there, and was downshifting to slow down also. It was so much fun for me to ride with her separately like that. She really needed this class and our ride yesterday to get her confidence back up. She had a little tip over a couple weeks ago, and it killed her confidence. She was doing really well, and went to go around a building in the parking lot we go to, and got target fixation on the curb. She wound up grabbing a handful of front brake, and tipped over. Hit her knee and head a little (damn sure didn't do any damage there, lol), but was good otherwise. Anyway, we're back on track now.

I hate riding in a group. When I had to ride in a group, I wanted in the back so I could avoid all the others.

I too am not much of a group rider unless it's just a group of a few close friends.

I've ridden with dozens of people over the years, and there are maybe 4 that I would ride with again.

Most of my time with riding buddies is spent in the garage, bench racing.

Two other buddies is my preferred limit anymore, maybe three.
Back in the day me & Mark would host a yearly supermoto gathering here in the mountains. Guys would come from all over the east coast.
Can you imagine 30 hooligans riding around Little Switzerland? The easy times were when the cops ragged on us for jumping the berm at the laundromat, and the lady got mad at us for riding up and down the steps at the post office. Other than that it was akin to herding cats.

I’m riding in the morning. Probably just to breakfast on old 421, but it’ll end up be 80-100 miles to make that 28 mile round trip.
