Life is hard, and serious. While I like good dramas and war movies, they can be intense. Sometimes I like movies that allow me to suspend my thinking, movies that are just plain fun. I love the Mission: Impossible series, as well as Transformers. Just saw that last Transformers flick (Anthony Hopkins was a hoot).

Any of y'all have any movies that fit that bill?

Ready Player One was really good.

There is a bonus drinking game:
Every time a piece of 80’s or 90’s nostalgic pop culture is on the screen and it is not addressed, the first person who spots it calls it out everyone else has to drink.

I think The Expendables series was that way. As was The Fast and the Furious series, especially starting with Fast Five.

The book was really good too. Will Wheaton narrated the audiobook and he happened to be the President. There is a scene in the movie where his picture is displayed.

One line from the book that didn't make the movie was "people in glass houses should shut the F### up".

Doomsday.

Same guy who made Dog Soldiers and The Descent. It's a combo of Resident Evil, 28 Days Later, Gladiator, and Mad Max. Best watched with a 12 pack.

2 Guns
Poolhall Junkies
Better off Dead
Ferris Buellers Day Off

Theres lots of fun movies out there

"Rat Race" causes tearfilled laughter everytime I see it. And anything starring Peter Sellers.

Just plain silliness is my retreat from real life.

+1 on Rat Race! Anything with "Mr. Bean" (Rowan Atkinson) in it is hilarious!

Just to resurrect this thread: I watched RPO on sunday, was really prepared to not like it. I was totally wrong !!! I'd recommend anyone over the age of 40 to watch this.

Please don't remind me how Spielberg destroyed this book.

The Big Bus 1976
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea 1961
The Towering Inferno 1974
Matt Helm 1967
In Like Flint 1967
2010 The Year we make Contact.

Undercover Brother
Austin Powers
Fear of a Black Hat
Jekyll and Hide: Together Again
A Christmas Story
Caveman (from 1981)

Captain Ron

Secondhand Lions

We'd watch it every Christmas or Thanksgiving at my mom's when the boys were young. Always worth it to watch it again.
