Not sure if this is the right section, mods please move if not.

Having an issue with my LA110 John Deere mower - started throwing the belt off.
At first I just assumed it was because it was an old belt (not sure of age, honestly), so I bought a new one (John Deere) and put it on this morning. Got about 30' and it kicked it off.

Well, put it back on, go for another try - same thing.

Im routing the belt the way the package says, nothing is getting in the way and its not overly loose when installed either. Its pretty snug on the pulleys, taking just a tad bit of force to get it over the last pulley

I dont know whats going on, please offer any advice you can

Check the tensioner pulleys and springs to make sure they are still keeping the belt snug, and maybe spin the pulleys with the belt off to be sure there's not a bad or locked up bearing. My LA115 will throw the belt off if I don't have the plastic spindle covers installed, oddly enough.

also is it the deck pulley or is it the drive pulley also check pulleys for grass being mashed up on one section where it can make he belt fly off also

There is some grass up top, maybe that's it?
I'll check the pulleys again tomorrow
Thanks for the feedback

also on some mowers the deck belt is normally loose really loose just barely enough to stay on when not engaged your tensioner might be keeping the tension to tight

I had a mower once and the previous owner didn't clean the deck after it was used. Things started rusting and pulleys on the deck weren't moving freely like they needed to. I think I ended up using CLP and a wire brush to clean it up and never had an issue again.
