Does anyone else have a shotgun they've accessorized for multi/most any purpose use?

I picked up a Remmy 1100 tactical to shoot 3 gun with. I later acquired a 28" barrel for birds/trap. Just to fill in gaps, I grabbed a rifled cantilever barrel for being able to scope up and deer/medium game hunt with.

I'm curious to hear if others have taken this "one shotgun - many uses" approach and how you managed it.

I’ve got a Benelli M-2 I bought setup for home defense, I accessorized it out for 3 gun, and bought a 26 barrel for bird hunting. Haven’t thought about getting a slug barrel yet. Sounds like I’m missing something 🤔

I have a stockpile of Hornady SST sabot slugs for this barrel setup. I found a decent 3-9 to mount on it. Figure that gives me the most effectiveness for that gun.

I tend to be fond of versatile/multipurpose setups. I have a pistol tricked out for 3 calibers.

Mossberg 535 with short rifled barrel for sabots, has rifle sights, and I even can put a red dot on the little rail section I added.

It's actually quite interesting what it can do, but, I don't try too often due to the cost.
I took a defensive shotgun class a couple of years ago which was eye opening.

I can quickly swap to the 28" smooth tube for 00 buck or #4, with a modified choke. Either of these are how it's set up for 'home use.'

I have also swapped out the choke to IC and used #8 shot for trap once, just to see how I liked it.
Didn't do too badly but I'd rather use the Citori for that.

This Mossberg was formerly owned by my late father, so, being frugal by multipurposing it is a way of honoring his memory.

I have a Benelli M2 that will do anything . Came with a 26 inch barrel.league rules said barrel had to be 22 inches or less.I put a 21 inch Benelli barrel ($460)on it and a pistol grip
Shot 3 gun with it and it shot everything in it .except Winchester 7 1/2 shot from Walmart failed to eject several times . Federal shot fine , no problems . I shot 00 buck with it and slugs out to 75 yards . Never failed me

I've been debating picking up a 21" 1301 comp thinking it could flex into HD, comp, and maybe even hunting with chokes?

Not sure though. Hoping to hear others opinions.

Honestly I have more shotguns than I need so I cannot really answer ops question. But 28" or 30" barrel with rifled slugs are plenty accurate out to 100 yards if you know the drop. I've always hunted with a smooth bore so I can swap to buckshot when I'm walking through the woods. I've always seen rifled barrels more of an un-needed luxury.

Mossberg Maverick 88 that I abuse. It can do skeet, birds, deer, predators all with its long barrel. I bought it back when they were still $150. Only regret is not buying the home/field combo as the long barrel isn't very practical in the house and the separate barrel is almost as much as just buying another one to chop the barrel. Oh well, nothing a trip to the local gun store can't fix :)

Had an 1100 I attempted to do this with. Turned out to be a sub-par choice for 3gun so I sold it. Which was somewhat of a bummer as I love the feel of an 1100.
Franchi that replaced it would do about anything I needed, although it's become just a 3gun shotgun.

I'm eventually going to go to a beretta 1301comp. Because the 1100 really ISN'T the best choice for 3 gun. I wholeheartedly agree.

But I love my Remmy and I'd fight with it all day long.

I have a 21” 1301 Comp that I got for a really good price, used it for a turkey gun this year. It patterned well with a turkey choke, unfortunately didn’t get to shoot an actual turkey with it.

It has been reliable with all kinds of ammo, isn’t very heavy and has plenty of aftermarket support. I’ll likely add a Magpul stock to shorten the LOP but I wouldn’t hesitate to use it for HD.

I had a Tac 4 1100, I think it was called. 22” barrel. It was superb to shoot. I just loved it. Installed the Dave’s easy loader.
Unfortunately, trying to load quads or dual and if you don’t do it perfect one can get stuck up under the lifter and you’re screwed. Have to disassemble to get it out. Never figured out another way. Bummed me out!

1301 is frigging great, imo. Hard to go wrong with that.

I'm down to one shotgun. A Remington 870M Wingmaster parkerized that used to belong to SAPD (18" cyl bore, walnut stock, extended factory tube) Still have those parts along with a synthetic stock set, 21" Mossy Oak Rem choke turkey bbl, 20" cyl bore rifle sight bbl and a 28" vent rib Rem choke. About 7 chokes to include rifled choke, 1, 2 and 3 rd mag extensions.
