She was a second time tourist to Myrtle Beach for a bachelorette outing. Has a masters degree in business. She was not part of the shooters crowd. She comes here to the house and is a 24 year old young hot Venezuelan.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble but it CAN be saved. Back in the early 90's when I moved to Ft. Lauderdale it was the twin of Myrtle Beach. Punks and gangs doing whatever the hell they wanted and no one did a damned thing about it. A1A was the main drag and roughly 3 miles long, shootings. rapes, assaults, you name it, it happened. Smart residents knew to avoid that area like the plague and keep their money. Kids jumping from one balcony to another resulted in numerous sidewalk splats, kids just plain getting high and thinking they can fly accounted for one about every other day. Somehow the city council got all of their balls in one bag and decided to put a stop to it. Within 3 years there wasn't a spring breaker to be found south of West Palm or north of Miami. They suddenly found other places to terrorize and to this day the small crowd that does come are well behaved, have manners and cause no problems. The cops are VERY visible and will rap your knuckles at the drop of a hat. The strip became safe for residents to walk after dark and the BS and punks disappeared. The beaches suddenly became cleaner and actually enjoyable to use.
It CAN be done, it just takes a commitment....

The catch is that you are talking about two different crowds. Spring breakers are not by in large criminals on a daily basis. They have some respect for the law and just push the limits. Bad things happen but rarely do they get in shootouts in the middle of town.
The groups that come to Myrtle around Memorial Day are a lot different with more true thugs mixed in. It doesn’t sound much different than the shootouts an hour or so north in Wilmington on a regular basis. It just doesn’t happen in the tourist areas of Wilmington.

Wellll, it doesn't happen in Murder Beach North of 32ndN Avenue. Million dollar lots with 2 million dollar houses. Ya see those people run Murder Beach. Damn near No crime from there to 82nd North. Same as everywhere, do you think people are getting gunned down in front of Ophra's house? The city fathers and Mammys give the ruffians an area to destroy But they people on Millionaire Row live in peace and quiet, with their City Streets blocked to all traffic but them. There is a Will but not for everybody's safety.

You are right about the above. What I am sure they know is with the city under siege from criminals is that their numbers quickly escalate. With that comes more violent crime to shopping areas and dining establishments. Evidently the elected officials are either afraid to push the law enforcement into a more proactive role or pretending like it is a part of doing business now. Obviously the police chief has taken an approach which is totally different than my night in their holding cell for saying damn in public.
 
I feel like the North Myrtle Beach PD will draw the line.Big money starts at NMB city limits to the SC State line. Atlanta Beach being the exception and it appears they are by themselves.
