I'm wanting a new muzzle device for my deer rifle. AR in 6.5 Grendel. ATM it has a normal muzzle brake but it's Abit loud without ears ;) should I just put a pistol style ( flaming pig type) on it? To help throw the noise forward? Thanks

S U P P R E S S O R . . .

While you will not get all the benefits of subsonic ammo with Grendel loads it will cut the report down close the hearing safe which for deer hunting is real nice on your ears for that one or two rounds you fire. I’ve even a couple times with a .308Win bolt gun seen deer in proximity look up but not outright head for the hills with a .308Win round being sent with a can ... they did alert and trot off but not full flight.

Maybe a linear comp? I just run A2 style bird cages on my ARs, but I also wear ear-pro when I hunt.

I have a Troy Medieval 30 cal on one of my .300 BLK rifles and it seems to throw the noise sideways and is quieter at the shooters position than my other .300 BLK with just an A2.

A Lavang style linear compensator is much quieter from the shooter's perspective than a traditional compensator, as it doesn't send the muzzle blast out the sides of the device, but FORWARD. It's more friendly to other shooters to the sides of the guy with the compensator.

I've got 2 of them, and I like them both. And my friends at the range like them also.

I wouldn't suggest repeated firing without hearing protection though, regardless of the muzzle device.
