I been tripping over this mag for a while. I got it with a bunch of other stuff and it doesn't fit anything I own. Looked like it wanted to go into my Beretta CX4 but the catch holes were too big and it flopped around. You can see in the pictures the cutout is narrower towards the back and larger towards the front. No markings on it. I also haven't had any luck finding a similar one on an image search.

Anyone know what this goes to so I can find it a forever home?

This is a 15 rounder out of a P89. For the most part it seems to be the same species of magazine. PM me if you wanna do some trading or something for it.

I'm stumped... but the one thing that stands out to me is the magazine cutout in the mag body. Notice how it's a notched-type opening and not the usual squared off hole. The cutout is on both sides of the mag tube, so it's gotta be for an ambi or convertable pistol

Holds 30 or so and seems to be 9mm or thereabouts. I have an M&P 45 and the cutout is definitely different.

Should be some sort of giveaway that the mystery mag cutout narrows towards the back but can't find anything that matches, unless is some sort of aftermarket thingy that fits more than one configuration (large/small mag release)

I'm guessing a Beretta 92 series. It also seems to have the second mag catch for the 92S. Top mag catch seems to be made to fit also the Taurus 92 series or SIG 226 since they share the same mag geometry. Looks like a USA brand magazine. Here's a Beretta mag with the dual mag catches.

Did you know that a Beretta 92 mag and SIG 226 will work in the other's gun? Mag lock up is different but if just hold the mag in the mag well while firing it will feed and cycle. Confirmed this on the range in Iraq when unit had a mix of 226/M9s.

Roger on the lower holes. I sized it up against a 226 mag and the catch is definitely lower:

It fits in the gun but doesn't latch:

I also lined it up with a couple 92 mags. One was an M9 and the other a factory Beretta 30:

The catches line up but since the Mystery Mag notch is bigger, it still fits but doesn't latch in the gun:

So at this point the Beretta is the best guess but still doesn't seem to work.

Taurus PT92?

Just thinking out loud.

beretta 92 mag that was end user modified to fit in a Taurus? if I recall you open the latch hole on a beretta mag to make it catch in the Taurus. once you make the mod, they work in the taurus and flop around in the beretta.

One side of the mag with the square opening appears to have been altered, perhaps for use in
a pistol with left hand mag release? The metal looks a bit rough compared to opposite side, very clean punch.

Are you close by? I can try it in my old 92 ...
According to Google if I leave now and drive straight through, I can be there in around 11 and a half hours. Not that I wouldn't mind being someplace 30 degrees warmer but work may have an issue with that.

I think we may have a winner here - could it be the ProMag 32-round PT92 mag?

I ran this by Greg Cote http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php

Not really sure. Looks like the magazine was modified for some reason.
It has a cut out that makes me think it might have originally been for a Beretta.
The older Beretta's had the magazine release at the bottom of the grip so that magazine might have been made to fit the new and old style Beretta magazine release.

Here’s a CZ75 pre-B on right and a Pro Mag CZ-A1 for a CZ “B” on the left.
