Trying to help a neighbor, where's the best place to look for one of these in the Charlotte area?

If it's on the outside, won't PNG take care of it?

Don't know the details but PNG is who told him it was leaking. I'm guessing he would have had them replace it if that was an option unless the cost was thought to be too high.

If it were on their side they wouldn't use a customer supplied regulator

PNG will repair is for a fee. They dont much for free anymore.

That is a Maxitrol 325-3 if it has 1/2" threads. If its 3/4 threads its a 325-5. Any HVAC or plumbing supply will have them. Amazon also has them.

PNG only owns to the main house regulator. The rest is on the owner. They will be about double on any repair or in premise pipes. I am not a fan of vertical installed regulators unless the drip leg is immediately on the riser below it. Tendency to leak at vent.

Thanks for the info, I'd say you pretty much narrowed it down for me. Looks like it's a 3/4".

If the regulator you buy comes with the brass vent limit device, remove it and replace it with the street ell from the old reg. That limit device is for indoor use and would need to be installed horizontal. Some come with them, some don't.

Helped install the new regulator today. PNG later came out, checked for leaks, checked the gas fireplace ( which this regulator / line was for ) for function. Also checked water heater, stove and heat system, all good.

Thanks to all for your insight and info. CFF comes through again.
