Ncdmv time

The two I get to choose from in Union County are both pretty busy throughout the day. Last week of the month it’s nuts with people renewing last minute.
When I HAVE to go, I try to get there about an hour before they open and stand in line waiting for the door to open. Usually in and out in 5-10 minutes.
I’ve been in lines inside longer than the hour I wait outside.
Of course everything that CAN be done online I do online in spite of the 3 dollar service fee. My time and fuel is with more than the 3 dollars.

The SC DMV offices I've been to are very efficiently run, in my opinion. The longest part is the line, but all things considered it moves pretty well.

They have a lady at the door who finds out what you're there for, lets you know exactly what it is you need to have with you, gets you started on all the forms required, and gives you a number tab. Most times I've been to the SC DMV, I'm being called not long after I finish whatever forms needed filling out.

When given the chance, I like to show up early when they open, too, just because.

Many locations in NC are a month out on appointments. A guy at work tried walking in twice in the past couple weeks and was turned away both times because they didn't have enough help.

Hey,

What morning is the best day to go to the ncdmv in the morning?

Thanks
Are you going to the dmv license plate agency or for drivers licensing? I don't think the license plate agencies take appointments.

If license plates, try to do as much as possible online. Fridays are busy with people that took off and wanting to get things done before the weekend. Mondays are full of people that did/bought things over the weekend. I suspect most people try to either go early before work, late after work or during a lunch break. So mid morning or mid afternoon might be best Tue-Thur and make sure you have all the documentation you need.

If the drivers license office, try to make an appointment and make sure you have all the documentation you need. I would also try to find an office that is out in a more rural area.

When our kids were starting to drive, we would drive from Concord to Albemarle, 45 minutes, to the dmv drivers license office. It was quicker to make the drive and have the small wait, than it was to go to the office in Concord and have to wait for hours. The examiners in Concord were also very hateful and the ones in Albemarle would talk to you like they knew you. Very different experiences.
