Need information on this pistol

Have any of you ever seen a pistol like this. It belongs to a friend. He found it while cleaning up his grandfather’s house. I have never seen anything like this.

Logo on the grips and the construction of it is the same as the one in the link posted by @Average Joe. Looks like macine screws/nuts have been used on the grip/pivot.

I’d say it’s a cap gun that someone (attempted) modified to shoot .22 rimfire
